Burnett is the most recent creative collaboration between partners Gordon and Catherine Runge. It is their second retail venture as they had a successful vintage and original clothing store, Barbdorf Gordman, in Ottawa for over a decade.
Gordon has a background in design and fine arts and has worked as a stylist for the past fifteen years, on residential projects, and television series including several seasons of House and Home, where he appeared on camera in many segments, as well Style at Home with Kimberly Seldon and many others. Gordon has also worked as a stylist for print publications including House and Home and Wedding Bells Magazine. A lifelong collector of décor accessories, vintage clothing and art, Gord has also had a passion for painting in oil and acrylics since his early teens.
Catherine has also been pursuing a wide variety of creative pursuits. She has worked as a set stylist for television series such as Balance andHome to Stay with Peter Falico; made and sold jewelry and clothing of her own design; as well as fabricating many soft home decor accessories, occasionally in collaboration with or in support of Gord’s design activities. Catherine also has extensive experience as a florist. Her passion for collecting vintage items and clothing has led to an interest in furniture restoration and decoration, which provided part of the inspiration for the collection now on display at Burnett.
Catherine and Gordon have three children and live and work in Toronto’s West End.”
